Worpswede is about 30 km northeast of Bremen, in Lower Saxony. Below are recommended routes from Bremen Airport (BRE) and Hamburg Airport (HAM).

From Bremen Airport (BRE)

By Car / Taxi (~45 min / ~30 km):

1. From the airport, take A281 → A27 toward Bremerhaven.
2. Exit at Bremen-Ihlpohl, then follow local roads L135 / L153 toward Worpswede.
3. A direct taxi from Bremen to Worpswede typically takes 30-35 min and costs in the range of €60-75.

By Public Transport (~50-70 min):

1. Take tram line 6 from the airport to Bremen Hauptbahnhof (main station) (approx. 15 min).
2. Direct bus from Bremen Hbf to Worpswede
3. Bus 670 runs from Bremen Hauptbahnhof to Worpswede (about 20 times per day, approx. 50 minutes)
4. Ticket pay in bus
5. Train + bus from Bremen Hbf via Osterholz-Scharmbeck
6. From Bremen Hbf, take a regional train (e.g. RS2 or NordWestBahn) to Osterholz-Scharmbeck.
7. From Osterholz-Scharmbeck station, take bus line 640 or 670 to Worpswede (≈ 14 min)

From Hamburg Airport (HAM)

By Car / Taxi (~1.5-2 h / ~120 km):

1. Take A1 south toward Bremen.
2. Exit toward Worpswede via local roads (L-roads).

By Public Transport (Approx. 2.5 h or more):

1. S-Bahn S1 from Hamburg Airport → Hamburg Hbf (~25 min)
2. Long-distance or regional train Hamburg → Bremen Hbf (~1 h+)
3. Then follow Bremen → Worpswede instructions above (either direct bus 670, or train + bus via Osterholz-Scharmbeck)

When do I need to RSVP by? 20th January 2026

Are children welcome? Of course! There will be a small play area where small children (under five years old) can play safely. Older children are welcome to join too, as long as we know in advance for catering.

Where can I park? There are dedicated parking spots along the road at the venue, but if you have trouble finding a spot, there's always space at the Rossmann (small supermarket) a little further along.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors? The venue has both indoor and outdoor spaces. Dancing, as well as the main meal, will be inside, but the outside is free for socialising etc.

Is there a gift registry? We're just happy to have you there to celebrate with us! If you would like to give a gift anyway, we'd be very grateful for any donation to our honeymoon fund.

What is there to see and do in Worpswede? Worpswede is a charming art-focussed village, so consider visiting some of the local art galleries, historic buildings and the Museum. In addition, the local moorland offers picturesque walks, and there's an excellent playground for children of 3-4 years or older. There are also several cafes and restaurants, including a dedicated ice-cream cafe serving "frozen spaghetti"!
