Our Story
We first met in a research lab in Cambridge, where we worked side by side for nearly two years before we really spoke.
This was down to the fact that Josie was a little shy about her English and also could barely understand Joel's Mancunian accent.
Once we started talking, everything changed and we quickly realized how much we enjoyed each other’s company.
We started dating when the pandemic hit and we were not supposed to meet. But we found quiet ways to see
each other, and in those strange, peaceful months, we fell in love.
Coming out of lockdown, it surprised some of our friends to find out that we were a couple. But to us, it already felt like
the most natural thing in the world.
Since then, we’ve shared so many beautiful milestones: adventurous holidays, buying our first home,
welcoming our amazing little girl Liora into the world, and a very special moment two years ago —
the marriage proposal in Norway under the shimmering northern lights, while we were pregnant.
Eventually, we left the lab where it all began, chasing new dreams. Joel moved on to explore new fields after
finishing his PhD, and Josie took the leap to spin out her own company.
Now, we’re ready to take the next step in this journey — and we couldn’t be happier to celebrate it with you!
